We rarely think about death at the age of 26 and neither did Dr. Aamir Hussain before 13th of April 2001 when he was diagnosed with a type of blood cancer- Leukaemia.
Dr. Aamir Hussain is an intelligent, energetic, and ambitious Dow Medical College graduate from the class of 1999. Until yesterday he was just like anyone else, full of aspirations and dreams, ready to spend the rest of his life with his newly wedded wife of three months.
Today things don't seem to be quite as colourful.
His disease is spreading rapidly and if the appropriate measures are not taken soon he might be denied a right we so easily take for granted - the right to live. But Aamir wants to fight. He knows that the type of leukaemia that he is suffering from is curable. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy at The Aga Khan University Hospital and needs to be flown out of the country for a bone marrow transplant. The doctors have, however, promised us hope for Aamir's recovery and survival. Unfortunately we can only indulge in such optimism if we can accumulate the necessary funds for his treatment within a short span of time. He needs your support
Aamir comes from a lower middle class background that, if most of us cannot relate to, we can at the least identify with the financial limitations of Needless to say Aamir is unable to afford his own treatment. We hope that if any one of us were to, God forbid, ever be in his situation, the fact that we could not afford the cost of the entire treatment would not determine whether we lived or not
With a strong faith in humanity and a reminder to appreciate all that you do have, we appeal to you to help us save Dr. Aamir Hussain by giving him your time and your prayers or by sending whatever donations you may be able to provide to:
